Weatherizing Small Business in New England: A New Opportunity

Air sealing and insulation (aka weatherization) measures are critical to achieving energy savings goals, yet weatherizing the buildings that house small businesses has proven elusive for most energy efficiency programs. Eversource – the utility that’s never quite ready to give up on a big energy savings opportunity – recently retained Dunsky to help crack that nut.
The Dunsky team looked far and wide to find emerging technologies and services to address this notorious efficiency gap. On the building diagnostic front, we found promising new procedures and technologies, and developed a method to rank the top ones. We also discovered new, commercially available air sealing technologies with a proven ability to improve both performance and market uptake. And we identified and secured interest from critical market players – from manufacturers to trade associations to research labs – ready to partner together with our client to advance cost-effective weatherization solutions.
