Dunsky Welcomes Clean Energy Financing and Program Expert Janice Ashworth

Dunsky Energy + Climate Advisors is excited to welcome Janice Ashworth to our team. With over 20 years of experience spanning municipal government, private, and non-profit sectors, Janice brings a unique blend of expertise in designing and implementing clean energy and climate programs that deliver practical, financially sustainable solutions for communities across Canada.

Prior to joining Dunsky, Janice worked on the climate change team at the City of Ottawa. There, she led the city’s private building retrofit strategy and programs, as well as climate-focused financial planning efforts.  Of particular note, Janice led the design and implementation of the Better Homes Ottawa program, one of Canada’s most successful home retrofit financing programs. To compliment this, she also led other initiatives to transform the home retrofit and energy performance markets, including home energy reporting, performance standards, and retrofit industry engagement. Janice brings leading expertise in helping municipalities implement on their community energy plan goals and set a long-term vision for success.

Janice also brings a strong understanding of community energy initiatives, having managed the development of renewable energy projects and community financing solutions with the Ottawa Renewable Energy Cooperative. Janice provides clients with strategic advice to help programs meet clean energy objectives while achieving financial viability—an essential factor in ensuring programs can scale and become self-sufficient.

Janice is based in Ottawa, Ontario, where she joins Managing Consultant Leslie Malone and Senior Consultant Blake Arsenault as Dunsky’s team on the ground in Canada’s capital.
