Dunsky is delighted to welcome Ian Klesmer and Kaitlin Carlson to our growing team of clean energy experts. Based in our Toronto office, Ian and Kaitlin bring leading expertise in advancing practical, high-impact solutions to lower costs and decarbonize Canada’s buildings and transportation sectors.

Ian Klesmer

With nearly two decades of experience in clean energy and climate policy and programs, Ian brings a depth of expertise that spans all levels of government as well as the not-for-profit sector.

Prior to joining Dunsky, Ian spent over a decade at The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) where, as Director of Strategy and Grants, he led the community granting and electric mobility teams, advanced ambitious clean energy and climate policies, and represented TAF within the Low Carbon Cities Canada network. Ian is recognized as a trusted leader and collaborator. He has deep program expertise, having designed, managed, and evaluated a broad range of clean energy programs while building and nurturing partnerships to accelerate outcomes.

As Director of Strategic Impact at Dunsky, Ian will build on this track record, working closely with clients and partners to drive initiatives that deliver on our firm’s mission to accelerate the transition to clean, affordable, and reliable energy systems.

Kaitlin Carlson

Kaitlin brings over 15 years of experience in sustainable buildings and construction, working with developers across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) to implement cost-effective solutions to manage energy use and increase energy efficiency.

A former Commissioning Technical Consultant, Kaitlin was responsible for the execution and development of strategic approaches to managing energy use in some of Canada’s largest multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs). She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Canada Chapter of the Building Commissioning Association, and is an advocate for low or no cost interventions that support smart energy management.

At Dunsky, Kaitlin will support clients in designing and implementing programs, plans and policies that reduce energy waste, optimize building controls, and drive both energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
