Dunsky Strengthens its Demand-Side Management and Energy Planning Leadership with Arrival of Ted Weaver

Dunsky is thrilled to welcome Ted Weaver to our team of clean energy experts.
With over 40 years of experience in demand-side management (DSM), energy systems planning, and utility business planning, Ted is a proven leader whose deep expertise and industry knowledge will support our clients’ most important projects.
Over the course of his career, Ted has helped utilities and energy service firms develop and manage over $6 billion ($US) of energy efficiency services and over 2 GW of electric generation. He has helped dozens of clients launch forward-thinking DSM programs and portfolios, delivering energy conservation, demand response, and Distributed Energy Resources to their customers.

Formerly based in Colorado and now based in British Columbia, Ted has completed projects in over 40 states and provinces throughout North America and appeared as an expert more than 20 times before utility commissions. A seasoned facilitator, he has led and participated in dozens of public engagement processes to create consensus around energy policies, portfolio budgets, and energy resource selection.
“Ted’s vast experience bolsters our leading DSM practice as well as our energy systems planning services,” said Philippe Dunsky, President of Dunsky. “Having worked in dozens of jurisdictions, each with different regulatory regimes and market contexts, Ted has seen what works and what doesn’t, and his perspective will be a tremendous asset for our clients as they seek to increase energy efficiency savings and supply clean, reliable and affordable energy to their customers.”
Prior to joining Dunsky, Ted founded First Track Consulting, an advisory firm supporting utilities, regulators, governments, and other energy service companies. Prior to First Tracks, Ted was a partner at the advisory Barakat & Chamberlin, Inc., and gained first-hand utility and regulator experience from additional positions at PG&E, the Vermont Department of Public Service and the Burlington Electric Department.
Ted is also active in the clean tech sector as an entrepreneur and mentor. He was the founding CEO of a methane monitoring startup, has helped utility clients launch innovation functions, and worked with startup clients in the energy services, hydrogen, energy storage, and air quality markets.
