Énergir, a major natural gas utility serving Quebec and Vermont, recently released the latest edition of its Climate Resiliency report. The report is part of Énergir’s commitment to ESG and sustainability and outlines the potential impacts of climate change on Énergir’s operations and business, in order to be better prepared to mitigate and adapt to these risks.

Dunsky supported this report by conducting quantitative scenario analyses based on recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD). Closely following TCFD requirements, our firm developed robust methodologies to take the most relevant GHG emission reduction scenarios at a global level, and to scale them to Quebec and Vermont, in order to create an array of possible futures on which Énergir can build rigorous and robust climate resiliency strategies. Each of these scenarios considers the potential impact of climate change on Énergir’s operations, looking across political and legal, technological, market-related, reputational, acute, and chronic risk areas.

Dunsky has supported Énergir with TCFD scenario analysis since 2020. Our team of in-house clean energy and climate change experts brings a wealth of analytical and practical knowledge to the assessment of climate risk. We work closely with Énergir to help better understand and assess the risks and benefits associated to emission reduction scenarios.

Dunsky supports corporate clients of all sizes with decarbonization assessment and planning. In addition to TCFD scenario analysis, our expertise includes conducting GHG inventories, target setting, decarbonization strategy planning, supply chain emissions research and life cycle analysis, as well as finding effective financing approaches and conducting investment due diligence.
