A former Director of Power Planning, Ben understands the challenges facing utilities first-hand. He brings a unique background in both statistical methods and policy development to help clients navigate the complex challenges of simultaneously stabilizing and decarbonizing the electricity grid.

Anirudh Kshemendranath

Senior Consultant

Anirudh advises clients across a range of areas, including electricity wholesale markets, energy storage, regulatory services, and market strategy. He has done leading-edge work in the US and Canada on energy storage, DER value and integration, utility planning and rate design.

Amara Slaymaker

Consultant

Amara brings experience in the energy sector, including experience in system modelling and optimization, renewable energy policy and data analytics. With Dunsky, she works frequently on heating electrification adoption modelling for projects supporting energy policy development, decarbonization and potential studies. 

Joël Thibert

Vice President of Energy Planning & Strategy – Hydro-Québec

Joël Thibert was appointed Vice President – Energy Planning and Strategy in 2024. In this role, he is responsible for the expertise center in energy and economic transition along with our activities related to integrated energy planning, as well as the development of corporate strategies. He is also called upon to work closely with the government on issues related to energy transition.

Mr. Thibert has extensive international experience in the energy and raw materials sectors, gained at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, which he joined in 2013 and where he was a director since 2017 before joining Hydro-Québec. He previously worked in project management for the Quartier international de Montréal and as a lecturer at McGill University His professional background has allowed Mr. Thibert to acquire expertise in the fields of operational transformation, lean management, asset management, capital allocation, and strategic planning.

Joël Thibert holds a bachelor of arts in environment and a master’s degree in urban planning, both from McGill University, as well as a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from Princeton University. He is a member of the Order of Urban Planners and holds a certification in Operational and Organizational Excellence from the Shingo Institute.
