Developing a comprehensive EV Strategy for the City of Victoria

On May 20, the City of Victoria BC presented its draft Electric Vehicle Strategy to City Council. Developed with the City by Dunsky, in partnership with AES Engineering Ltd, the Strategy recommends key actions to help Victoria reach its goal of having 30% of passenger vehicles powered by renewable energy by 2030, including:
- Investing in EV charging to enable Victorians to charge at home, at work and on-the-go, including close to 700 public charging stations and enabling charging in over 40,000 parking stalls in multi-unit residential buildings through EV ready retrofits.
- Monitoring the affordability of EVs and, where necessary, filling in gaps in incentives to maintain the cost-effectiveness of EV ownership in ways that are accessible and equitable.
- Building an EV ecosystem by supporting private investment in public charging, educating residents about EVs, and developing a network of local partners.
We are proud to help Victoria enable its vision for transportation that is safer, more sustainable, more convenient, attractive, and enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities with less environmental impact. We congratulate the City on this important milestone and look forward to having the final report presented in Q4.
